Bill,

The original motor with mine was a 2hp motor, but that was the old style 
and old way of rating HP in electric motors.  I put a new Marathon 240v 2hp 
motor on mine and it does the job just fine.  But then again mine is 
getting limited use and light duty most of the time.  I got the motor 
through Harbor Freight.  They are made by Marathon in Marathon City, WI and 
are good motors.

Although the original motor used a flat belt, I'm using 2 V-belts, which is 
the current recommendation from Sid Suedmeier.

Your best bet would be to call Sid at Little Giant/Mayer Bros. in Nebraska 
and ask him.  He will talk your ear off and you'll be glad he did.  Sid can
