[TheForge] Using tent as a smithy

My tarp tent is fairly substantial as it had to stand up to Alaskan snow
loads and valley winds. To be honest the folk in the mid-west get lots more
snow than we do in my locale but a couple feet of snow is still a killer for
a "tent".

Mine is built on the front of my Connex, the main area is 16' x 16' with 8'
x 16' running down the side of the Connex for storage. It's pole framed and
reinforced with Ranch Panel fencing under the tarps. Ranch Panels are welded
9 ga. wire fence panels 52" x 16'. Stapled to the "trusses" and upper parts
of the walls makes excellent support against wind and snow loading. The
"roof" is a silver tarp and the walls are double layers of 8 mil visquene.

I didn't vent it, it's not that air tight. The forge is propane and teamed
up with a wood stove made it barely habitable at or above zero.

I REALLY hope to get something more substantial put up this summer.

I don't worry too much about theives, we're well back from the road and we
have dogs. Large dogs.
