I went to the second hand store and bought an old hip length leather coat
that had enough leather in it to make a bib. Works well and cost $4.00.
That's Canadian too, which means about $1.25 US <GRIN>

What types of aprons do you folks wear while forging, leather, cloth ,
short, long, pockets ? I find myself in need of something better than what
I have been using which is nothing. Also, where is a good place to obtain a
good quality protective garment without spending and arm and a leg?

Mine was $35...Page 90 in their catalog. It is listed as "Blacksmith's Long
Bib Apron Leather"
