[TheForge] Forge Question

Are there any clay deposits near where you are? You can make a forge using 2X6s
to make a box and then fill that with sand and clay.
No one has said anything yet, so I will ask. Does any one know if the coal in NM
is usable in a forge? There is coal and then there is COAL.
