I have been asked to make some stone mason chisels. 1 "liner" and 1
"chipper"(?). I'm pretty sure the one is called a liner (this is the sharp
one). But I'm not sure of the correct name for the other one, the
'chipper'. Basically this one looks like the 'liner' but is flat bottomed,
with a very slight bevel to one side.
Anyway, what steel would be best for this? I'm thinking something in the
S-? series would be what is needed, but which one? These are hand chisels
and I'll need to get the stock in hex bars. Definitely a job for the power
hammer.
