[TheForge] Amish

bob , when talking with my plain
friends, I find out often that some of
their (to me) stranger attributes are
just different manifestations of things
I do myself. e.g. I believe in modest
attire. I just do not draw MY line at
head coverings for the women folk.

The objections to the telephone is not
the technology itself, but how it
invades a lifestyle. One example is that
communication is good, telemarketers
during family time are evil.

A wish for a simpler, less bothered
lifestyle is fairly common. I even know
some non religious types who choose to
live down dinky, dead end country
roads.<G>
