[TheForge] Propane tanks

Hi All;

   Since some of you run propane forges, I thought you could probably
answer these questions...

   I haven't used any propane since before the valve change, matter of
fact, I haven't even seen or handled a "new style" tank at all.  I
have three old style tanks that I'd like to use as compressed air
tanks. I'd paint and label them clearly and such.  My intent would be
to use a ball valve and a quick disconnect female on each tank.

   Question is,  what is the thread size of the base of the valve?

   Would I be better off to find some old fittings to use on the
present valves?

   Should I be doing this at all?
