 I have never met Jerry Kagele, so I can't make any comments about his
motivation or interactions with the other members of the ABANA board, but I
have  known Tim Ryan for about 20 years and am confident that he is too much
of a gentleman to trade verbal barbs in the public forum.
I also would like to point out to the newer members of ABANA ,and other
folks on the forge, that  Tim has served as a volunteer auctioneer  at ABANA
National and associate (chapter) conferences for many years. In this
capacity he has raised the huge amounts of money that have been instrumental
in funding the tremendous resurgence of blacksmithing in recent years.
I also believe that Tim's differences with  some of  ABANA's board of
directors were motivated by his objections to questionable decisions and
policies by the board in recent years.
