There is an interesting item for sale on ebay. It is described as a
"certified comparitor", manufactured by the Metal Spark Company. Supposedly
you can use it to test steel for type and hardness, and even determine "who
made it". I've never heard of such a thing, but it has gotten a bid and is
up to $20.00. I'm tempted to bid on it just to see the thing. The item
