   Really good info.  I have discovered that, the 40 W  appliance
bulbs last as long, and usually longer,  in my drop lights as do the
rough service bulbs, admittedly, I'd like a brighter bulb, but as
clumsy as I have become, it pays to use the appliance bulbs.   Have
any data on those?  (other than the fact that they are "glare devils",
LOL )

   BTW... my voltage runs 123-126 all the time, I switched to the 130
v  bulbs sometime back, you're right about extending the life of the
bulb.  Something else I did, was to put a fluorescent replacement in a
difficult to replace spot, the jury is still out on that one, but it
has already saved at least two replacements.  Hasn't paid for itself
in replacement costs yet, but has in hassle costs...
