[TheForge] Arkanese Rod Ovens

For those who like to tinker, I've been told that microwave oven
transformers can be re-wired to make all sorts of neat things, like
Tesla coils and high frequency arc starters (ala TIG).

But back to rod ovens, has anybody ever used  your run-of-the-mill,
dept. store, plastic cooler? I don't know how much insulation a
microwave has, as they're more designed for quick internal heat, but
coolers are designed to keep things at temperature.  And there's no
wasted space there.
