Dave; Assuming that the J40 is the successor to the J27 I once wore out, a 
cutting attachment should be available. And it should be able to cut at 
least an inch easily.
  Kerf size is related to cutting tip orifice size..if you need a smaller 
kerf , get a smaller tip and crank up the oxy pressure to compensate for 
thickness.
Slag formation ( minimizing) is dependant on getting the pressures and 
travel speed right.
With a single small preheat jet, the Henrob cutting is real slow to start 
on heavier stock. The little cutting wheel assembly is too rinky-dink for 
adult use.
No. I'm not taking $ under the table from Henrob ( formerly the Dillon mark 
3)..did you guess?
