[TheForge] L.P. quick disconnects

Dan, For one thing the air quick disconnects don't have backflow
checks in them........ the Western quick disconnects do. Odd a saleman
would tell you that as the Western disconnects are about $20 for a fuel only
and 38 for the combo Fuel/Oxy set when using them with a torch. I do that
to run either a gas forge, or a torch set with mine.
I don't know what the seals in the air quick disconnects are, but it
takes T grade hose to handle the mecapthan-sp? in the propane for a long
period of time with no deterioration.
On the larger size hose I use for my large gas furnace, salamander,
flame thrower torch for melting ice.........I use the quick couplers like
off a forklift tank..........those are pricey, but there is some serious
volume in a 3/8" whip at 5-20 psi which can get out of hand in a hurry if
something falls on it. So with those I use the industrial propane hose with
the wire and tough rubber coating on it for safety purposes.

Ralph
