With all due respect to both parties::::

This is the third organization with which I have been associated in
which I have heard " I am here to have fun, don't bother me with details
or facts or problems."

Although I do understand that ideal (unfortunately), this merely allows
others to do what they wish without control.

Would anyone on this list give their car keys and credit card to the
neighbor's 15 year old and tell him/her to have fun for the weekend?
No. Why? Because there is no accountability or control.

Our country is based upon checks and balances. This is evident in the
Judiciary, Legislative, and Presidency. We have hard enough times
concerning balance with this, where it is all laid out. In a "club" or
business, there is not the framework. So, the only way to hold someone
accountable is through our dues (though there are always enough people
who support the leadership or don't give a flying whatever), or through
discussion on the boards.

So long as someone does not want to hear the discussion, they will never
know the truth. Certainly, there is truth in both sides of the
argument. Certainly there is a lot of bs in both sides. But when you
gut bambi, you have to get through a lot of smelly disgusting stuff in
order to get to the good stuff.

This country was founded upon the basis of accountability and fair and
equal representation. To allow less to be provided today is to throw
away the lives of all those who died to make this country what it is. I
wonder what the founding fathers of this ABANA think about all this
uproar? I think I'll ask one next time I see him/her<G>.

Forgive me George, for my imprecisely formulated question.
I did not mean to imply that smithing had become acrimonious,
rather the circumstance with ABANA and the questions raised.

I cannot say that this is all worth the drama. I just want to
bang iron, make a few nice things, talk to you guys often, go
to smithing events, and enjoy life. This bantering and intrigue
are for the birds and not worth a whole lot of my time. Anvil's
Ring and the Blow are nice, but I feel no urge to devote my
precious energies towards this manner of argument. We're all
going to be real dead one day. Nothing we do here is so damned
important that we should waste our precious life in argument.

Bang iron, have fun, work well, love those whom you love, and
move
on with fruitful and worthwhile things. Of course, for some,
this
is worthwhile; so be it. I'll just be over here on the
sidelines
	if anyone needs me.

Best wishes to one and all, even the ABANA board. :)
