Mike, After you get the pipe tapered you are going to have a blast bending
it like that!
If you have an electric welder you can cut some swinging by cutting a long
wedge out of the area/ length you want tapered and forging it to round and
welding it closed. Then start your bending project, it should be in the
fire enough to cover up for any welding and grinding marks
