Using a power hammer I forged 180mm for a tree trunk, about 1.5 meters of
it, that was only to rough it up to make it look "trunkish", I guess it
really depends on the size of your hammer and the wall thickness of the
pipe, thicker wall acts more like solid bar and can make drawing out easier,
pipe is one of my favourite forging projects though, there are so many
tricks you can apply.
