I've been using the Carhartt Chore coats in the Winter for twenty plus
years and they have never been fire proof. I also use the dungaree jackets
in the Spring and Fall. It takes me about two years to reduce a new coat to
a large pile of rags and then it might live in the truck as an emergency
garment in case I get wet and need to change. The advantage is that they
don't tear to easily and you can smell the cotton burning so you know to
finish the wire and put yourself out
