Anyone have any information on a Klein post vise?
I saw one today and it has an interesting design for the leg and plates.
The movable leg has two shoulders with flanges that bear on a much larger
pair of pivot plates than usual.
The pivot plates are about twice as tall as on a typical vise with a
radiused top centered on the pivot point. Seems like it would give a lot
more support to the vise jaws than just the pivot bolt alone.
It looks old, and seems to be a quality vise, I just haven't seen one like
that before.
Anyone have info?
Also on the issue of plastic versus natural materials for clothing, I seem
to remember that the British Navy changed from wool over to Polypropelene
long Johns prior to that Falklands skirmish thing.
They found out that it was a BIG mistake, the sailors that got caught in an
exocet missilecaused fire were
horribly burned due to the poly melting into their skin and sticking. The
Royal Navy went back to the old standby of wool soon after that incident.
Now wool smells bad when it burns, but at least it won't stick.
