<<The $325 for the panel sized for a 10hp motor might not be that much
more than all the components you would need to buy. >>=20

The capacitors, switches and relays should not cost more than $ =
100-$150, and if you scrounge a cabinet to enclose them, bribe an =
electrician with quality beer to look over your shoulder, go to scrap =
yards, ask them where they pile up the mixed metal stuff, get lucky, go =
to motor shops and ask please, most of this stuff is free for the asking =
as anyone in business generates gobs of these items over the course of a =
year and probably has just what you need because, while obsolete, might =
be useful to someone.
I understand that not everyone has my skill level or familiarity with =
things electric, and to many, the whole concept of electricity is =
intimidating, with good reason. There is enough juice in these =
capacitors to blow off the end of a screwdriver, or electrocute you, =
that's where the assistance of a competent electrician comes in handy. =
Don't be afraid to suggest bribery or trade for a bit of ironwork. =
Electricians have wives and anniversaries too. =20
(VBG) ...ask for what you need..."please" works wonders...my 2 cents =
worth
Stephen
