Phlip is on a roll today.  A blacksmith knows that they will be burned on 
occasion. Protective clothing  can make the burn worse when it happens, 
because the heat is held  against your skin.
Training and common sense can limit the burn exposure better than  heavy 
protective clothing.

Phlip   said it well.   What has made  America strong,  was that 
as  Individuals and as a Nation we refused to be  victimized.   All 
the  Protective Services of the United States  failed on 9/11,  but  a few 
unarmed  "non victims"  willing to die fighting back, stopped the 4th  team 
of hijackers on the Pittsburgh flight.
Many Post 9-11 citizens believe that  the American Government  needs to 
strike a balance between Individual Freedom and Protective Police Powers.

In the name of Home Defense,  the US Government now grants itself powers 
legally make  citizens  disappear.  No Judge, No right to an attorney, No 
family contact, No  custody time- limit.

That newly sanctioned  authorities  of the American Government scares me 
worse than the terrorist threat.  Some one   on the list today  quoted that 
old trouble maker Patrick Henry: it is to easy to forget that  choice can 
be an equally  heavy burden today.

The further that the pendulum swings    towards a protective police state, 
the  less there is left to protect of the American way.  Giving up all the 
remaining rights and freedoms that  Americans have held dearly will not 
prevent another determined group of terrorists from  burning us again.
