The Atomic bombs dropped on Japan saved many more lives than were killed by
them.
The estimates of lives lost, of the Japanese not to mention allied military,
during the planned invasion of the homeland many times exceed the Atomic
bomb casualties.
The fire bombing raids over Tokyo, and other large Japanese cities, killed
many more Japanese than the "A" bombs did, and didn't seem to do anything
but make the Japanese more determined to fight to the last man, woman and
child.
There are a lot of people alive today, that wouldn't have been born, if
their Grandfathers or Fathers had died in the pending invasion.
