> We like the lifestyle available in our country, but most, I believe, would be willing to moderate it in favor of a more equitable lifestyle worldwide...do you think the Bush dynasty would do the same? If we are not willing to make concessions with the world resources (Coca-Cola bottlers in India are depleting the local aquifers to ship their product throughout the country. The locals are of lower castes, so who cares if their wells run dry?), then we either accept what damage terrorists are able to inflict or we set out upon the horrific path of genocide...we would have to be willing to annihilate the Axis of Evil, and we have seen that as we chop off one tentacle from that creature another grows in its place. Our greed cannot long endure any more than could King George's taxation without representation.
I for one am not willing to reduce what we have so that others can have
mine.
f these other folks want what we have then they need do the same thing
we did. Fight for it and earn it. I do not recall seeing too many
references to how the world came to our aid in the late 1700's. They
mostly stood back and watched. Yeah France did provide a little help
late in the war, but it was mostly to piss off the English, and not
because they truly believed in our attempt for freedom.
As for large companies etc. Who is buying the products? In your ref you
mentioned Coca-Cola. If it is not the local populus then who?
> Why is it so difficult for us to see that the war is between the haves and have-nots? Why don't we start by demanding that members of our government share OUR interests rather than the interests of men like our Secretary of Defense? What portion of the World's resources are necessary to sustain Secretary Rumsfeld's $200,000,000+ net worth?

And why should those who have, be forced into giving up what they have
to those who are too lazy or selfish to go out and earn it themselves? I
absolutely dislike the 'Robinhood' government concept. People ask why
the economy is in the tubes. I think it is because that we do not have a
truly free market. If government got out of the business of business
real competion will work. But as long as the government taxes and
controls then we are in trouble.
Why should I trust a government that can not keep its own fiscal issues
straight to run mine?
Just my opinion of course
