And now, to respond to what I intended to respond to, when I went off on my
rant ;-)

Don't know about brand names, but the problem with many of the popular
brands is that they're "ultralite" or "thinsulate" or all that garbage, and
what that translates into is that they're usually some variety of
artificial/synthetic fabric, and since most of those are a petroleum
derivative, they tend to be flammable. Oil burns- what can I say?
If you want to have fire resistant clothing, wear natural fibers. Cotton and
wool, silk and linen, will burn, but it takes a lot to get them started,
just by the very structure of the materials. Synthetics are flammable to
begin with, they're usually treated with a "flame retardant" which they
don't mention wears off, and after a while, they'll catch fire.
My choice is cotton- jeans, usually, or leather- chaps, apron, boots or
jacket when I'm around a forge. Unless it's REALLY HOT out, and then I cut
down to shorts and halter top, but natural materials, and bare feet. Skin is
more resistant than you think ;-)
