I absolutely agree. I am not sure about general smithing, but for
bladesmithing, a big anvil is often in the way, particularly when
attempting to forge in the blade bevels. Also, in a one man shop with a
power hammer and/or hydraulic press, the anvil is used for finesse work,
not major metal moving.
