At over $6.00 per pound, I'll buy steak. Really, if smiths who actually
use these things want to pay thousands of dollars, they can probably have
something custom fabricated to their specs for less money. I just bought a
custom made bladesmithing anvil from Chuck Robinson for $425 (It would
have been 350 but I wanted both faces machined and hardened, which gives
me 2 anvils for the price of 1.25). It is infinitely better than the
London pattern for blade work and worked out to less than $2.00 per pound,
brand new!
