Ralph- I didn't make it to LaCrosse but we were lucky enough to have had Angelo here for the NWBA conference last month.
If there's one word to desribe this man it would have to be "Gepetto". Did you see the pictures of the working miniature beam power hammer? Being an 8th generation smith has it's advantages, I'm sure. Some of the work in his photo albums were dated 1939; his fathers' work perhaps?
A sad note on the minature shop was that it was damaged by customs agents when he entered the U.S.

One of the demonstrators I enjoyed most was Angelo Bartolucci. He
could easily be considered to be an International Treasure. He took 8
inches of round stock and made two flowers, stems, and leaves with a single
fastening point on the bottom with no welds or stock additions thru other
fastening means. He is my new favorite master to catch next
time............ If you didn't catch pictures of the minatures he
made -there was an entire shop(wood, metal, and forge) in running condition
in the pictures he passed around............awesome.
