	Mike et al,

This is precisely the reason why we brought up the idea of
having the collection travel for at least part of the year
for at least the next few years. If it has its home in
the Ornamental Iron Museum, or wherever, it should be
available to make the rounds to other locations, including
perhaps some Chapter events, for the other six months.

It it remains on one place, far fewer people will be able
to see it. I would certainly like more smiths to be able
to get a gander at it, if nothing else, but ideally making
it more widely available to the general public would be the
way to go. I'm open to all ideas on this because I don't
know squat about how these things work with museums and who
would pay the shipping, how the items would be crated, what
sort of insurance for damage, loss, theft, etc. should be
secured. There are a bunch of questions that need to be
addressed as we make arrangements for the collection's future.

I see no reason why there cannot be a mechanism for either a
museum or an ABANA chapter to request a specific time slot
for getting the collection. I suppose it can be first come,
first served, and if there is a conflict, let the conflicting
organizations contact one another and work it out between them.
Such scheduling conflicts could serve well as an excuse for
otherwise unfamiliar chapters to get to know one another a
wee bit. One can never know what might arise out of even a
	single telephone conversation. :)

	Best wishes.
