Gee, did I *really* make this typo myself:
Subject: Re: Alldays and Inions [yarnin']
Shame on me. That's "Alldays & Onions". Anyhow,

I don't have any digital photos yet. I'll put some up when I do.
There's a guy in Oz that uses a 2 cwt. that's pretty similar but his
photo doesn't show how the hammer is installed. And there's a photo
of a lighter A&O out there but it's a one-piece. That is, the anvil
and hammer body are not separate and I'm guessing that's the detail
you'd like to see.
Thanks for the screwdriver yarn, Frosty. Any nickel is as good as
another but good tools aren't fungible. They got personality. I was
over to Tim's to match the A&O blueprint dimensions against the real
thing. He has the hammer I swapped off to him all set up, under cover
and running. Not quite tuned up just right but usable. I passed on
to him the story of the guy in Deerfield, Mass. who sawed his right
thumb off in a home made table saw because his shop was cold in
January and he was wearing gloves. Had to give up smithing and sold
that hammer to me in 1968, along with Black and Decker 1/2" drill and
end grinder, circa 1925 models, both of which are still going strong.
