[TheForge] Tumbler

Interesting . . . Hmmmm.

I'll be testing my tumbler today or tomorrow too.

I used a 55 gl. storage/shipping drum, the one with the clamp on lid. I
welded a couple pieces of 1/4" x 2" flat in it for lifting lugs and will
paint it with bed liner paint today. The bed liner should quiet it down and
make the drum last a lot longer.

I'd also salvaged a few old drum stands so didn't have to make a stand, only
weld a few fixed rubber casters to it for rollers. The motor is mounted to a
hinge plate under the drum and the belt will run from a 1" drive pulley
around the drum itself for a (probably too fast) 74 +/- rpm. If I need to
slow it down I'll have to make up a jack shaft. (I say that like it's a
problem but I'm just cheap and lazy. <grin>)

I'll put it outside the "shop" under a roof of some kind so the noise
doesn't drive me crazy.

If it ain't forged
it ain't real.
Wrought iron is.
