From the book "Modern Blacksmithing" by Holstrom 1904:

1) Don't lose your temper or hit the horse with your hammer
2)Don't run down your competitor
3)Don't smoke while shoeing
4)Don't imbibe in the shop
5)Don't run outdoors while sweaty
6)Don't know it all
7)Take a bath once a week

"This done the craft will be elevated, and the man respected."


Sounds like good advice to me.
