hello;
i really need to respond to this.
0. apache is a httpd server, it is not a browser.
1. neither linux, or macs running either macos or
macos-x are at risk of getting the klez virus.
cannot happen, no way, no how.
where linux and macos-x are taking hits is all the
stupid klez spam being sent out. the mail servers
are being hammered.
linux and mac users are getting hammered if someone
who is running a pc with windows has them in their
address book. the klez virus forges the e-mail headers
so that it looks like it came from a linux box or
a mac when in reality it came from a computer running
windows. currently, the stupid klez virus is eating up
18.75 percent of my bandwidth. we are spending way to
much time tracking down false alarms. the end-users are
not helping out when they do not forward the virus e-mail
with full e-mail headers. a forged from e-mail address
is useless. we need the full e-mail headers in order to
track down the actual infected computer.
we are really looking at telling end-users that they
either secure the windows computers or pull them off
then internet. i have been working on getting a box
ready to scan outbound e-mail and if the from address
does not match the headers it is getting flagged and
dropped. at least it will keep the stupid klez virus
from spreading out from us.
