Bob,

Are you a veteran by any chance?  You don't have to have served in a war 
zone nor have a service connected disability to qualify for VA 
medical.  The VA certainly does have it's short comings, but it beats the 
snot out of nothing.  Besides, when the crunch came they kept me going with 
a triple by-pass two years ago .... total out of pocket expense?  $0.00

So, if you're a veteran it's worth looking into, even if you have to travel 
some distance for appointments.
