Thanks much Bob, Dave, Andy and others.  You can always count on good info 
from the folks on this list.

I wound up with 200 lb. or more of .5" approx  round due to an industrial 
reject for out of tolerance diameter.  I will see how it works for both hot 
and cold tools.
