[TheForge] Gee look ABANA again

I have been pretty much deleting this whole thread un-read. I have no
particularly strong opinions about the performance of the Board (past or
present).

This does seem to be an appropriate forum for discussion of that issue
however. The forge is promoted as a list serve for ABANA, at least that is
how I found my way here.  Those who do not want top read this discussion can
do as I have been and delete, delete, delete. Those who are interested can
continue to read.

I am glad that those members of this forum who feel strongly about the Board
feel free to speak their minds. I would hate for any topic related to
blacksmithing to be silenced, just because some people don't want to hear
about it.  From discusion comes change.

The next round of elections for the ABANA Board offer the chance for anyone
who can gather the neccessary nomination to run, and those whom the
membership choses as best able to the job will have their chance.

It is worth noting that very recently there were only 4 candidates for 5
vacancies. If we don't run we have only ourselves to blame if we don't like
the choices available to us.  I realize that not everyone can serve on the
board and some may not want to.

I am glad that there is oversight of the Board by the membership, even if I
choose not make myself a part of that oversight process.
