<< Speaking as an displeased reader. I much prefered the content of the Pub
when Mr McCarty was doing it. It seemed that he had more North American
smith content than currently. I am somewhat tired of Asian and European
smiths being showcased primarily.
We are after all ABANA which last time I looked meant NORTH AMERICA. I know
there are plenty of good talent here in teh US of A and Canada and Mexico. >>
I like the current Anvil's Ring and Hammer's Blow (or at least I did in the
beginning of this year...my membership lapsed and I haven't renewed...not for
any political reason, its more simple -- I'm broke.). I think Rob and Brian
do a good job. I liked the Ring when Jim Mac wrote it, thought he did an
excellant job. I liked the Blow when George wrote it -- think he rocks.
Don't know who wrote the Blow before George, but of those issues I've seen, I
liked them too. One thing that comes to mind is, with all of these, whoever
was editing, the content was driven by the membership, and whatever articles
they sent in. If we're only seeing European and Asian articles -- maybe
that's all that the membership is sending to the editor. Maybe we (the
collective "we") should provide articles on North American iron to the
editors for them to publish. Maybe I'll do just that, about the ironwork I
encounter on the upcoming honeymoon. Or maybe I'll be too busy enjoying my
bride.
