[TheForge] Skewer handles

Guys, I need a bit of help. I'm looking for a picture or pictures of an
historical skewer handle. Doesn't necessarily have to be a skewer handle,
but rather an implement where the business end gets very hot- I need it from
pre-1600, although any time period or culture before then would be fine.

The deal is, that I'm making a friend a skewer for a Tandoori oven, and
since I have pure iron, and the man is a dear friend, a SCAdian, and a
Laurel to boot, I'd like to make one as historically accurate as possible.
Any suggestions?
