And speaking as another displeased reader,  I thought the ABANA  mags were 
third rate even allowing for the fact that the quality of craft journals is 
generally low.  The articles were poorly written, poorly researched and 
poorly edited.  The work itself was often poorly photographed.

I got very little benefit for my membership fee.  The content at their 
website is very sparse and compares badly with other smithing sites 
maintained by private individuals and local organizations.  The services 
offered were poorly managed and unreliable.

I probably would have continued my membership anyway, out of loyalty to the 
craft but after the heavy handed way they dealt with the anvil shoot 
business, I did as Bruce suggested and saved my money for other, more 
useful things.

Haven't missed them one little bit.
