Thanks, Terry.
My roommate is forever going through all sorts of paranoia about this stuff-
I figure it gives her something to do when there's nothing sensible to think
about ;-)
Myself, I don't give a diddly damn who sees what on my computer. I'm an
adult and entitled to a romance with another adult, the only porno I've been
spammed with lately is rather boring, and if they want pictures of chickens
and ironwork, music and recipes from pre-1600, or similar such items they're
welcome. Let them bore themselves to death- I don't care.
OTOH, if someone wants to confiscate my computer, I charge $1000/hour for
it, and will cheerfully sue as an adjunct to unlawful arrest or search and
seizure. Condidering the most unlawful act I've committed lately is
forgetting to put my sweatbelt on a couple of times, I'm not worried.
I really don't understand all this stuff. For police types to arrest someone
and seize property, they need damned good evidence of wrong-doing. Can you
imagine the boredom involved in attempting to sort through the volumes of
sheer drivel that passes along the net? It's ridiculous.
