But, Dan, if we started using it we'd be making the changes that you say
are missing. At least for the classified's as far as this discussion is
concerned. Going to the ABANA site for the classified's isn't any more
difficult overall than going to the photo site. Using the photo site
limits you pretty much to the subscribers of this list, whereas using the
ABANA classifieds exposes the FS for WTB stuff to non-subscribers as well.
The ABANA web site does one thing that the photo site doesn't do, it allows
you to write a detailed description that stays with the ad. There isn't
any room at the photo site to write a long description of the article that
is for sale. The description on the ABANA site is available every time you
go there, whereas posting a description on TheForge list is a one time event.
On the other side of the issue is the fact that the ABANA site, as far as I
could tell, doesn't let the advertiser put up a picture of the item that is
for sale. Which takes us right back to the photo site.
It's a vicious circle. I don't know what it would take to ad a photo to an
ad at http://members.abana.org/home/cgi-bin/isc/classifieds.cgi It would
be a nice addition, though.
