Rick,
A bullwheel forge was pretty common around these parts. It was made by
pouring cement into the iron rim of a corn binder bullwheel. It is dark now
so I won't go out to measure it, but I don't think mine is quite four feet
in diameter. Not as big as it appears in the photo. It was fitted with a
buffalo blower powered by an old washing machine motor controlled by an
antique rheostat. When I got them both of the blowers were frozen up. The
motor was missing from one and the rheostat gone from the other, and the
fire box on one was busted beyond repair. Now I have one real nice forge and
one trotline weight.
Are you a mule man by chance? If so you need to take a look at my web page.
