[TheForge] Welding copper (was:fountains)

How are you applying the flux?  For soldering. mine is in a little applicator bottle with small applicator tip.  I use borax and water for flux and dry borax, boric acid and sand for forge welding.  I have never used copper wire like you describe....only silver solder.  Will it work the same way?  Does it flow like solder?  How do you stop the peice from melting away.  Solder melts at a lower temperature than your base metal.  Some Welding rod has a copper coating that encourages flow at a lower temp than steel. 

What happens when they both melt at the same temp?
