Bob, Just kidding on the cat.......... The workshop is one of a
long list. We have made Guilotene tools for necking down hollow forms like
tubing and pipe.
The second one was making smithing magicians.
Third workshop was making three of the sidedraft coal forges like in
the Blacksmiths Journal.
Our next one was on Air hammers.
The largest so far has been the treadle hammer workshop when we
made 8 hammers.
Also had a demo forge workshop that went well and yielded a slick
portable forge and some nice anvil stands.
A work table workshop saw three fabrication tables and one platen
table frame go out the door(all had receiver tubes and sliders for table
accessories - just came out in our last newsletter).
Then this chisel workshop is the last one being held last Sunday.
We have four guys that get together often to make tooling, do demos,
or build projects together and we have a lot of fun at it.
I have real nice air hammer under way(has been for a while), and
collecting parts for a belt grinder proto type that we can do a workshop on
come this spring.
The pictures I posted under shop tools of the gas forge was a proto
type using a burned out Valley Forge Magnum Hot box as something to chop
apart and try in a different manner. It's run for three weeks now and we
have a couple of minor improvements to make and the larger size "lift top"
forge should be running next week. This will allow them to be placed end to
end for 48" heats, side by side for 2'x 3' heats, and anywhere from 2 - 10"
tall for forging, preheating oven, or heat treating, as well as being able
to handle large shapes like hooks and scrolls after the first
bend.........unlike the pipe and box forges.
I have pictures of all the workshops if you want more items posted,
let me know which ones................Oh did I mention I love digital
cameras!! There, that made it refer to the original subject line.
