[TheForge] Trenton Anvils

I don't believe that my 80-lb Trenton would be considered large, but it was
broken at the waist and the arc weld is obvious.

Mr. Postman's book indicates the body was made of one piece of low-carbon
steel or wrought iron. The steel plate was of Swedish tool steel - usually.
The Trenton's cast bases were made in a range of sizes to fit anvils of a
certain weight spread. For example, one base would be used on anvils of 45
to 50 pounds. Another base was used on anvils of 170 to 200 pounds. He
indicates that the largest base would be used on anvils up to 600 pounds.
Anvils over 600 pounds were all forged because there weren't enough of them
made to justify the time to make a foundry mold.
