The best site that I found for dbxtract.exe is 
at:  http://chattanooga.net/~scochran/DBXtract.htm  It has the most 
complete write up of all the sites I looked at.  it doesn't say what kind 
of file it extracts them to and I'm thinking that it is a dbx recovery 
tool, as opposed to a tool that will extract the contents of a dbx file and 
let you save it as a different type.  But, I'd go to this page and read and 
decide for yourself.

Another option is to download Eudora Lite or Eudora 5.1.  Both have an 
"import" option that will import the dbx files and store them in the more 
common mbx files.  mbx files can then be read by most word processors since 
they are pretty much ascii files <with some extra features>.  But 
beware.  If you try using Eudora, in either version, you may never go back 
to using Outlook Express again.
