I had the same problem and I found a shareware program that extracted the
DBX files. it is callded DBXtract.exe There may be other ways of solving
the problem, but that worked for me.

I am trying to back up all theforge posts in their respective folders, but
am unable to open them once I have saved them. They have the suffix .dbx
and using Word to open them results in gobbledygook. Any ideas on what
program to use to open a .dbx file?
