[TheForge] book

I have this book. It is a Dover reprint of a 1901 Spanish volume. It has
120 plates of drawings of Spanish ironwork with only minimal captions. I
have found it a useful source of ideas (some nice dragons and door
knockers). However, I bought the book in anticipation of a trip to Spain
this summer and it was of little use as a reference since only approximate
dates and sources are given for the items. It also gives no historical
context or background on Spanish ironwork. The section in Geerlings
"Wrought Iron in Architecture" on Spanish iron was much more useful in
understanding something of Spanish ironwork.

Best Regards,
Doug Wilson
