My friend Joe Baer (you UMBA and some of you BAM guys know him) has a 
4-poster hydraulic press.  Put anything of any shape at forging temperature 
between the platens and ... squish, you have a flat something.  400ton will 
do that.  It's a monster press.  This is not a home made press.

It is single pump and I believe that all four rams are connected in 
parallel.  I'll have to ask.
