With the encouragement of some of theforge members I took the plunge and
bought a Handler 135 last year. I needed something that I could take on a
job and plug in, since at the time my big portable welder wasn't looking
like it would ever run again (since resurrected!).
Anyway, I love this thing!
Everybody uses it a bit differently- I have no use for flux core wire, since
if I want splatter I can always use my ACDC on AC with 6011, so for anything
that's going to be for sale, I grab for my MIG. It's so nice to be able to
lay down such clean beads first time every time, without a lot of adjusting.
For larger welds, all I do is vee and use multiple passes, just like I would
with the stick welder on thicker stock.
Good to hear that Don has been using his for 10+ years, since that's the
only thing that concerns me about this unit.
