Thanks, Ray.  That's somewhat where my mind was headed before it got side 
tracked.  I had images of some sort of art deco stuff, or some of those 
archetectural/futuristic designs from the 40's & 50's.

I also think that I need to play with forging it a bit.  16ga is a bit thin 
for forging, but maybe the 1/2" sides will be short enough to allow me to 
forge them down to a taper/fishtail without bulging the sides or dimpling 
the top and/or bottom.  I've never had luck forging down tubing less than 
14ga before, but then I've never tried forging rectangular tubing before 
either.
