[TheForge] Welders....

Ok...I see my mistake, I should have been more specific...

I am going to build roasters for my business, they will be shells
of new 55 gal. drums, frames of common angle iron, and roasting
baskets of food grade stainless, ( Roy said that is 302 ). the
thickness of these materials will be 1/4" and thinner. The baskets
will be of 302 stainless in similar thickness.

The reason I'm doing this at all is because, #1 I can, #2 the
local engineering firms want as much for fee as the welder will cost,
might as well own a welder. #3 the "engineers" who have not seen
inside my head are trying to change my designs. I can tolerate so
much "lighter cheaper" but when the piece stops doing what I expect of
it... well.... #4 "planned obsolescence" is a four letter word...

So.. some exact recommendations are what I'm looking for, this
equipment will be hobby tools after this project. If I ever need some
serious duty cycle and exotic material capabilities, I will buy a
bigger better welder...

Ok.. the Lincoln recommendation for year end sale well taken, I
still need to know what I need..LOL

   Thanks again...
